-
How do you handle discipline and behavioral issues?
-
1st Occurrence
-
Child will be sent to Time Out for a short period of time
-
Time Out is the removal of a child for a short period of time from a situation in which the child is misbehaving and has not responded to other discipline techniques. The "time-out" space is located away from activities but within a team member's sight. During the "time-out", the child has a chance to think about the misbehavior which led to his/her removal from the group. After a brief interval, a team member discusses the incident and appropriate behavior with the child. When the child returns to the group, the incident is over and the child is treated with the same affection and respect shown the other children. Time out will be one minute per each year of age.
-
-
2nd Occurrence
-
The preschool director and/or assistant teacher will have a discussion with the child and the child will be sent to Time Out a 2nd time and an incident form will be filled out. A phone call will then be placed to a parent for pick up and a conference will be scheduled within 24hours. The student would then be suspended from the program for the next day of scheduled class.
-
-
3rd Occurrence
-
A phone call will placed to the child’s parent/guardian and your child will be unenrolled from the program.
-
-
Behaviors that would fall under the discipline policy but are not limited to: biting other students/staff, hitting, pushing, kicking, punching, spitting, running away from staff or trying to exit the premises while indoors or on the playground, running from staff in the parking lot during Carpool, using profanity and threatening words to others, climbing fences, destroying school materials, throwing furniture.
-
Bullying
-
We have a Zero Tolerance policy for bullying. If the director and/or assistant teacher is made aware of a bullying situation, a parent will be notified and suspension/expulsion may occur.
-
Note: Depending on the situation, the preschool director may skip forward in the discipline policy order at any time. We want all children and staff to have a good time at Kid’s Clubhouse Preschool and feel like they are in a Fun & Safe environment at all times. No refunds will be given to an account if your student has been removed from the program due to discipline or bullying.

What are your policies regarding sick children or school closures?
-
If a child is not well enough to play outside and participate fully in all activities, he/she should not come to school. When a child runs a temperature of 100 or higher while at the Preschool or exhibits any illness symptoms (fever, vomiting, diarrhea, pink eye, green nasal discharge, consistent cough or whooping cough, unexplained rash, unexplained sores or blisters) the following steps will be taken:
-
A parent/guardian will be contacted. If a parent cannot be reached, a person from the emergency list will be contacted. It is imperative that parents make arrangements for a sick child to be picked up within an hour after receiving notification of a sick child.
-
The child will be removed from the classroom and supervised in the office.
-
Re-admission to school will not be allowed until the symptoms have disappeared for a full 24 hours and/or after taking antibiotics for 24 hours. The child must be able to participate fully in all activities before returning.
-
Children must be without fever and fever-reducing medicines (Tylenol, Ibuprofen) for 24 hours before returning to the Center.
-
-
When a child contracts a communicable disease he/she will not be permitted to attend class again without written approval from the child’s physician stating when he/she can return to school. These types of illnesses that would require a doctor’s note would consist of but not limited to: Strep throat, Flu, Covid, Hand, Foot and Mouth, Chicken Pox, Scabies, Lice, Pink Eye.
-
We understand that at times it is difficult to take time off work, but we must limit the exposure of the other children to help control the spread of illness. Preschool staff will be practicing and encouraging good hygiene cleaning and sanitizing all surfaces and toys daily.
